There’s no place like home. Situated in the heart of the Cambridge, just off Market Square, our new two-floor Cambridge store takes pride of place, across the road from King’s College.
As a graduate of the University of Cambridge, our founder and CEO, Julie Deane said, “Cambridge is our home and we needed a larger space to showcase our extended range of products. Being in the city centre, and so near my university is important to me – this really is my dream space in a dream spot. I can’t believe how far we’ve come and am so looking forward to the next step in our journey.”
Julie famously started The Cambridge Satchel Company with her mother Freda at her kitchen table in Cambridge back in 2008. There are references to of Julie’s kitchen throughout the Cambridge store, from the colour palette, to the table tops and the mismatched china on top of the furniture. Even the paint on the wall is aptly named ‘Julie’s Dream’; a more perfect match couldn’t be found!
Visitors to the Cambridge store can browse our entire collection, from Classic Satchels in our original colours to new designs like the Cloud Bag and Traveller Bag. Look out for our brand new Cambridge University Collection, featuring the University’s blue stripe and emblem on a range of colours.
You can also see your new bags and accessories being embossed before your eyes in our very own instore workshop on the ground floor. Choose from a wide range of quirky symbols or classic letters for a finishing touch that’s completely unique. Just a note, during busy periods, be sure to leave at least half an hour to allow for same day embossing.
The store also showcases a wide range of products from our Men’s Collection in a dedicated Men’s area on the ground floor. The range features Satchels, Batchels and work bags as well as more casual cross-body bags and backpacks – there’s something for everyone. Our Trunk Collection is also available to order from store, speak to a member of our team for details.
While you’re in the city, Julie recommends that you try your hand at punting down the River Cam and don’t even think about heading home without trying one of Fitzbillies’ cinnamon buns!
See you soon!
