Dear Santa…With Team CSC at London HQ

Categories: CSC Insider,

This week we’re asking Team CSC what they want to get and gift this year and what they’re most excited about most this Christmas.

Do you have any unusual Christmas traditions in your family?

We always go to midnight mass on Christmas eve to sing Christmas carols.  One year, my Mum went upstairs to get her red scarf so that she would look festive and on the way down, she fell down the stairs and snapped her arm! … But she still made us go to Church for carol singing! The scarf became a make shift sling at Church and I spent Christmas morning in hospital with her.

Which bag is at the top of your Christmas list?

The Cloud Bag in Black because it will be perfect for a New Years Eve party.

Which bag will you be giving as a gift (and why!)

I’m actually thinking of getting my sister one of our trunks as she just moved into a new house and my mum something from the new small leather accessories range – she travels every day so something like the cable tidy is perfect for her carry on.

What Christmas film really makes it feel like Christmas for you?

The Holiday and Love Actually – two British Classics. Oh and Harry Potter as it’s always on the TV in the run up to Christmas.

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

My boyfriend is gifted a Ham from his work every christmas – so we cut the Ham in half and have a competition on who can make the best glaze. The ceremony of presenting each other with our glaze, and the eating of the Ham well into Jan has now become my favourite thing about Christmas.

Which bag is at the top of your Christmas list?

I’d really like one of the new purses – in gold please, thank you.

Which bag will you be giving as a gift (and why!)

I’ll probably give my dad something from the Men’s collection. He loves that our bags are all made in the UK and he’s a man of great taste

Any Christmas themed tips/tricks/life hacks you want to share?

I come up with a theme for wrapping my presents – one year I did everything in the Financial Times. This year I’m going with ironic and chintzy – think tinsel, gold reindeers and Mariah Carey..

Do you have any Christmas traditions in your family?

We always order in a Chinese takeaway on Christmas Eve and roast chestnuts. Also, the dog is the first to open his presents, only because it distracts him from the wrapping paper. He goes crazy for it. We should really just buy him a roll of wrapping paper for Christmas!

Which bag is at the top of your Christmas list?

The Cloud Bag in Oxblood

Any Christmas themed tips/tricks/life hacks you want to share?

Don’t buy expensive wrapping paper, buy brown parcel paper from the post office and then make cut-out shapes from potatoes and decorate your own. Old boring white string can be soaked in beetroot too for prettier parcel ties. And last but not least, keep your christmas cards for next years parcel tags.

Do you have any unusual Christmas traditions in your family?

My family don’t celebrate Christmas, we celebrate Chanukah instead. We get one present every night for eight nights – small ones on the first seven nights and a slightly bigger one on the last. This year Chanukah starts on 6th December (it changes every year, and personally I prefer when it falls closer to Christmas).

Which bag is at the top of your Christmas list?

The Small Cloud Bag in Dusk Blue or The Push Lock in Metallic Silver. I’m obsessed with anything shiny, metallic or bright.

Which bag will you be giving as a gift?

I’m loving the small leather accessories! I will be getting them embossed and giving them to a lot of my family and friends as Christmas gifts.

Any Christmas themed tips/tricks/life hacks you want to share?

A cute idea for wrapping presents (in my opinion) is getting someone else to do it as I am HOPELESS at wrapping and make everything look as if a three-year-old wrapped it!

The atmosphere and going Christmas shopping for lots of lovely gifts.

The Portrait Backpack in Ember Orange.

Any Christmas themed tips/tricks/life hacks you want to share?

Use gingerbread men as decorations around the house!

What is your favourite thing about Christmas?

I love being in London in the lead up to Christmas. The lights, the Christmas shopping, drinking mulled wine in cosy pubs near London Bridge with all my friends –  it’s like being in a scene from Love Actually (except without Bill Nighy and Hugh Grant, unfortunately!) Oh, and being able to wear red and green together and not caring if you look a bit like an elf.

Which bag is at the top of your Christmas list?

A Portrait Backpack in Classic Red. I like that even when I wear more neutral outfits, I can still have a pop of my favourite colour. And it matches my Mac Ruby Woo lipstick almost perfectly!

What Christmas film really makes it feel like Christmas for you?

I love Miracle on 34th Street – it makes me cry every time. I remember watching it when I was younger and wanting to be exactly like the little girl’s mum when I grew up – her long coats, fur scarves and leather gloves; she’s so glamorous in a real classic way.
