Job Specification: Sales assistant
Hours: Flexible: part time & full time
As sales assistant you will be the face of the brand, displaying excellent customer service and providing our broad clientele with the perfect customer experience. As well supporting the London market management team in the smooth day to day running of the store, including working together to meet targets.

Main duties

  • Provide exceptional customer service as standard across all areas of the business
  • Ensure high levels of security are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and visual standards in store.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements.
  • Support the Managers in the day to day running of the store.
  • Maintain the reputation of the Cambridge Satchel Brand.
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and confident at all times.
  • Maximise sales, achieve sales targets and increase profit.
  • Constantly develop knowledge of product, new lines, promotions etc to assist customers to the best of your ability.
  • Carry out repairs, embossing and care of leather goods on a daily basis.
  • Support the London Management team, where required by supporting stores at multi sites.

Job Specification: Senior sales assistant
Salary: Competitive plus sales based bonus commission scheme
As senior sales-assistant you will be the face of the brand, displaying excellent customer service and providing our broad clientele with the perfect customer experience. While supporting the management team in the smooth day-to-day running of the store whilst working together to meet targets.
You will be able to inspire the team to deliver a high standard of customer service, leading by example and ensuring that every customer receives the best possible experience during his or her visit. Reporting to the London management team, you will be responsible for influencing the trading of the store and performance of the team.

Main duties

  • Maintain the reputation of the Cambridge Satchel Brand and provide exceptional customer service as standard.
  • Ensure high levels of security are maintained at all times.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping and visual standards in store.
  • Identify current and future customer requirements.
  • Responsible for opening and closing the store
  • Cashing up and banking
  • Support the Managers in the day-to-day running of the store.
  • Be enthusiastic, energetic and confident at all times
  • Inspire teamwork and motivate staff to ensure good morale
  • Lead by example, ensuring all team members are performing to the best of their ability
  • Showing passion for the Cambridge Satchel brand.
  • Maximising sales, achieving sales targets and increase profit.
  • Be proactive and show initiative at all times.
  • Identify key lines and use VM guides to ensure maximised sales opportunities
  • Maintain high standards on the floor at all times
  • Update the wider team on daily performance, noting standout purchases, product feedback etc
  • Demonstrate a consistently positive and 'can-do' attitude.
  • Identify any training requirements and work with direct line managers to achieve results.
  • On occasions where it is required of you to open the store: Communicate targets and key information to the team, making sure that the management message is received by all staff through a morning brief.
  • Follow company banking and cash handling procedures and be responsible for the security thereof
  • Deal with customer enquiries and complaints in a timely and professional manner, at all times endeavoring to retain loyalty.
